Holy Family School, Skennars Head, is a young school community that was born in 1997. The school services the East Ballina and Lennox Head areas. We are a Parish Primary School within the St. Francis Xavier Parish of Ballina. Our Parish is situated within the Diocese of Lismore.
The Catholic Education Office at Lismore provides administrative and consultative support to aid us in the provision of the best possible service at the local level.
The School is a non-profit organisation. No dividends are issued at any stage to any persons. All fees collected and monies raised are dedicated to the provision of a quality educational service. Activities of various committees within the school will, from time to time, generate revenue. This revenue always remains the property of the School and is expended to enhance the provision of quality education.
School-based policies are developed in consultation with the Parish Priest, School and the Catholic Education Office.
Parents are seen as key and fundamental people in the life of our School. They are actively encouraged to participate in our growth at whatever level they aspire to. There are opportunities for this participation in areas from classroom support through to collaborative work on policy development.
Holy Family School is a ministry within the faith community of Ballina that has as its focus – children. This focus on children calls us to nurture every aspect of their lives, through an appreciation and celebration of all that influences it.
Children from Holy Family School come from a variety of family structures, economic situations, religious backgrounds, cultural and ethnic origins. The blending of such a wide variety of family circumstance calls the teaching staff to develop an understanding of the factors that impinge on the learning performance of the children.
It is a complex ministry and a journey we share together. Our guide along the way is the Word of Jesus; we can draw our strength from the example of His life of selflessly giving and unconditionally loving.
The community of Holy Family celebrates
the uniqueness of each individual.
